Anthony Furlonge joined up with Stevenage at the end of the 2011/12 season on a free transfer.
His contract had expired with Southend United and he quickly made the move to Boro, primarily regarded as a signing for the future however manager Gary Smith had hinted that he could push for a first team place sooner rather than later.
Equally comfortable on the right side of the defence or in the centre, Furlonge was the subject of interest from a host of Premier League clubs.
Previously on the books with Millwall and Arsenal, the youngster made both his U18s and reserve debut's for The Shrimpers in 2010. He was regarded as a leading example of what their Centre of Excellence could produce before leaving the club.
He first pulled on the Boro shirt in a friendly against Watford where he put in a strong performance on the right side of the defence for the whole 90 minutes, a performance that only heightened the excitement of the young prospects chances.
